Our fundraising letter

Dear Sir or Madam:

We thank you for taking time out of your day to read this letter. I am writing on behalf of the FTC team #9093, Deca Force. We are a group of students from Twin Falls Middle School and St. Joseph's in the seventh and eighth grades, and we meet weekly at Valley Robotics here in North Bend.

FTC stands for FIRST Tech Challenge, which is a non-profit organization geared towards robotic and virtual education in a world with an ever-growing market for computers and machines. Our team works together to build and program a robot that can complete a series of tasks, and the robot is then entered into a competition. These contests can reach all the way to the international level. But there is also an entire other half of the team in charge of coordinating schedules, budgets and interaction with outside groups and teams, such as this company. It provides a hands-on group learning experience that will prepare us for the business and mechanical world that simply cannot be provided through public education. We will treasure this knowledge and experience well into our careers, long after we've graduated.

However, a great privilege such as this program still costs money to supply the part kits, protective wear, entry fees, and other necessities, which adds up quickly. We would be extremely appreciative if you would consider becoming a sponsor for our team, to give us a greater chance at moving on to the next level in the games. Doing so would mean the world to us. For a donation of $100, we will showcase this company’s logo on our website. For a donation of $250, your logo will be displayed in the window of our shop, for all passers-by to see. For a donation of $500, we will print your logo on our banner, which we will proudly bring to multiple competitions and events. And for $1,000 or more, your donation will not only sponsor our team, but two younger FLL teams as well, for a total of 25 future engineers and leaders. When you donate to our cause, not only do you receive the rewards specific to that amount, but you will also receive the rewards of the previous increments.

Again, we are extremely appreciative of your consideration, and look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
The members of Deca Force
